Cheaper first check
Cabin air and pets pack the HV intake. The blower that cools the traction battery can also wear out. Owners hear a dying fan as a growl or silence where there used to be a whir after shutdown.
We will not publish a tear-down. A shop, or a careful owner with a parts diagram, can inspect the filter and listen to the fan. If those are failed, fix them first, then rescan. A new pack with a dead fan is a short story.
Amazon search: Gen 3 battery fan / filter. Confirm fitment. Not a Dorman HV pack.
Amazon Associates. Amazon tag is still a placeholder. This is a plain Amazon search until a tag is added — diagnosis tools, 12-volt batteries, and fans only. Not Dorman HV packs. Disclosure
Then the usual diagnosis
Dark dash: 12-volt, hatch-mounted on these years. P0A80 with Ready drama: Dr. Prius + Veepeak OBDCheck BLE, not a cart. That kit reads battery health; it is not an HV install. Factory HV warranty on a 2015 is 8 years / 100k federally, so almost every 2010–2015 on the road is out unless a state rule or an extended policy still applies. Check the booklet.
If the pack is actually done
Sodium DIY
NexPower GT2 for the Gen 3 / Prius V / CT200h family lists at $1,890 on Salty Hybrid. Same caveats as Gen 2: often sold out, 1-year DIY / 2-year certified installer, non-transferable, not OEM, MPG gain not guaranteed.
